ABOUT HIATUS

Hiatus, aka Cyrus Shahrad, is currently involved in the task of composing an original soundtrack to his life from a small flat in South London.  This is proving to be a more full time job than he first imagined.  Influences are wide ranging – from Four Tet to the Four Tops, from Josh Davis to Miles Davis to Ennio Morricone – and the tunes below vary in length from two to seven minutes. Some of them have pianos, some of them have organs. Many of them have both. None of them have lyrics, although if anyone has some they would like to see added, please get in touch with him via e-mail.

It's all about crystallising and illuminating the moments between the moments: a birdsong in the life eclipses even the music of the spheres.  "Beauty is truth, truth beauty – that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."
